All Fortune notebooks are supplied with a 1-year collect and return warranty. Notebooks are registered either using the registration card or by registering online.

Warranty Information and Returns Procedure

If you experience a fault with your Notebook computer, you must first contact the dealer you purchased it from. If the problem cannot be resolved then you contact our Technical Department which is available Monday to Friday, 9.30am until 5.00pm.

When contacting the Technical Department you must ensure that you have the model of the Notebook and the serial number (which is either situated at the base of the Notebook or underneath the battery). Without the serial number we are unable to assist you.

The standard warranty that is supplied is 12 months from the date of the invoice to the vendor.

Warranty Information
A Collect & Return warranty operates during the 12 month period at Fortune Technology’s expense and discretion. Please note that Fortune Technology can only collect from destinations within mainland UK. Customers based in Northern Ireland, Channel Isles, Isle of Wight and Scottish Isles are only supplied with a Return-to-Base warranty. Customers based outside the United Kingdom are required to bear the cost of carriage both ways.

The warranty covers all hardware faults. Please note that our Technical Department are unable to offer software support, this should be provided by the appropriate software companies or your dealer.

IMPORTANT: Charges will be applicable if the machine has been physically mistreated and consequently the components have become dislodged; if there is a FDD or CD/DVD/Combo drive problem and the drive has not been cleaned or the disk has been broken inside; damage caused by the user or if the Notebook has been returned and no subsequent fault can be found.

The warranty does not cover the plastic casing, accidental damage and user wear and tear items such as any cables supplied, carry case, keyboard and disks (eg if the operating system was supplied).

Battery: To prolong the life of your battery, please refer to the Users Manual. Please note that due to our varied product range, some model Notebooks are only supplied with a limited six month warranty on the battery. If an extended warranty was purchased on point of sale, the maximum warranty available for the battery for some models is 12 months. For clarification, please contact the vendor or Fortune Technology directly.

Dead Pixel: If you find bad dots (Pixels) on the screen, it does not necessarily mean the LCD is defective. Bad pixels may appear on the screen owing to limitations of the LCD technology. Please note that due to our varied product range, some screens can be replaced when there are 5 dead pixels and other models are 8 dead pixels. Please contact the vendor or Fortune Technology directly for clarification.

Fortune Technology guarantees a 4-10 working day turnaround on all warranty returns dependant upon the model – please note that there is no guaranteed turnaround period for items outside their warranty period. Our Technical department will inform the user before collection is arranged as to the turnaround period.

Returns Procedure
If your Notebook computer develops a fault, then you must contact your dealer first. If the problem cannot be resolved then contact the Returns Department at Fortune Technology who will issue you with a Return Merchandise Authorisation Form. This form must be completed and returned to the Returns Department for a returns number before the Notebook is to be collected. Fortune Technology will not be able to accept any returns without a returns number.

Please ensure that the goods are packaged in original or appropriate packaging (ie in a strong box with bubble wrap or other suitable protective material). The supplied carry case is inadequate. Please ensure that the returns number is clearly marked on the outside of the box. If the goods are not available when collection is attempted at the pre-arranged time, then the user is required to return the Notebook at their expense or request Fortune Technology for re-collection for a charge.

Fortune Technology is able to arrange collection of Notebooks that are Return-to-Base or out-of-warranty for a charge. Should the user require their Notebook to be returned on a Saturday morning or more specific time (for example delivery is to be made after 1pm or before 10.30am) then Fortune Technology is able to offer this service for a charge.

For out-of-warranty Notebooks, there will be a standard inspection charge that will be applicable should the user decide not to go ahead with any quoted repair together with the cost of the return carriage. Our Returns Department will be able to provide the user with the appropriate charges.
